Shred Day at the Chamber Office

Shred Day at the Chamber Office

Wednesday, July 6, 2022 (10:00 AM - 2:00 PM) (EDT)

Description

Everyday* is Shred Day at the Chamber!

Cleaning closets or clearing space for another tax season's documents? You're encouraged to take advantage of the Chamber's Shred Day services. Everyday* is now Shred Day at the Chamber office at 90 E. Wilson Bridge Road, Suite 100.

For the shredding of confidential documents, the Chamber will accept boxes of documents and donations on any day that we are open by advance appointment only (made by email to membership@worthingtonchamber.org or phone to 614-888-3040).

There will also be one day per month when document drop-offs will be accepted throughout the work day and collected with the help of a volunteer.

Shred Days will be held typically on first Wednesdays on the month from 10 to 2 p.m.  The next event is on Aug 3. No appointment is necessary during these times. Appointments will be accepted on other days.

The documents dropped off will be stored in locked collection bins furnished by Royal Document Destruction, who will destroy them with their micro-shredding processors after pickup. Please wear a mask and exercise safe distancing when placing documents in the bins. The bins will be wheeled into the foyer of the east entrance of the AAA Ohio Auto Building where the Chamber office is located. (Look for the Chamber directional sign and logos on the double doors.) A wheeled cart will be available for removing boxes of documents from your vehicle.

The Chamber will accept:
 •    1, 2 or 3 boxes of documents for a donation of $25 (cash, check made payable to WACC, or credit card)
 •    4, 5 or 6 boxes of documents for a donation of $50 (cash, check made payable to WACC, or credit card)
 •    7, 8 or 9 boxes of documents for a donation of $75 (cash, check made payable to WACC, or credit card)
 •    10, 11 or 12 boxes of documents for a donation of $100 (cash, check made payable to WACC, or credit card)
 •    Please schedule an appointment to arrange for any larger drop-off of documents.

A “box” refers to a “banker’s size” file box or similar cardboard box, or the equivalent of a 13-gallon kitchen trash bag (not a 30-gallon waste bag or yard-size bag). Larger boxes or bags are discouraged and will count as multiple boxes.

Papers, magazines, file folders and stapled items will be accepted. Diskettes, CDS, DVDs and other media may not be included in the documents to be shredded. We are not accepting electronics at this event.

About Royal Document Destruction

Your documents will be destroyed securely by Royal Document Destruction, a Chamber-member business that was the first shredding company in Ohio to become certified by the National Association for Information Destruction (NAID).

Royal Document Destruction sees the shredding/destruction process through from start to finish. The material is destroyed to a particle size no wider than 5/8 inch shred width (industry standard). Single, double and triple shredding systems provide added quality control. Once shredded, the material is commingled with similar grade recycled paper to further separate information. The paper is immediately baled and shipped by semi-load to paper mills for recycling. All material is destroyed in compliance with all federal laws, and meeting or exceeding standards set forth by NAID.

We hope you'll take advantage of the shredding services on the monthly Shred Day or by appointment at other times.
