MEET OUR SPEAKER: Lark T. Mallory, esq. is a trusted advisor and resource to governmental bodies, private entities, Community Development Financial Institutions and developers of all sizes. As the Managing Director of Mallory Economic Development Advisors, Lark focuses her services on the issues related to multifamily housing and community development. A formal education in accounting and law and 20 years of extensive experience in large law firms provides the founding for her effectiveness in consulting. Ms. Mallory serves on the Advisory Committee on Affordable, Equitable and Sustainable Housing at the Federal Housing Finance Agency and the boards of directors of the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, and River South Authority. She is a past board member of the YWCA Endowment Board, Women for Economic and Leadership Development and, before serving as general counsel, the Affordable Housing Trust for Columbus and Franklin County where she chaired the governance committee and was a member of the finance committee.
Prior to starting her own firm, Ms. Mallory served as the President and CEO of The Affordable Housing Trust for Columbus and Franklin County, an organization that provides low interest rate loans to developers of affordable housing. At the Affordable Housing Trust, Ms. Mallory was responsible for all aspects of the organization’s mission, including its private investment funds and its real estate loan portfolio. The loan portfolio included construction loans, traditional single property loans and structured financing related to both 4% and 9% tax credits and bond transactions. Ms. Mallory was the guiding force in the implementation of the Emerging Developers Accelerator Program. She became President and CEO after serving as General Counsel for The Affordable Housing Trust.
It was Lark’s impressive legal career in prestigious law firms that qualified her to serve as general counsel. Prior to joining The Affordable Housing Trust, she was a partner with Frost Brown Todd, a 500- attorney law firm with an eight state footprint. While at the firm, Ms. Mallory focused her practice on advising tax exempt organizations, businesses, as well as individuals and business owners, in the core areas of corporate and business law, financing, commercial real estate, and tax planning. She also counseled clients regarding entity selection, formation and governance; capitalization and financing, including loan documentation and private equity; and compliance with the Internal Revenue Code.
Ms. Mallory is actively involved in the improvement of the Central Ohio Community. She served as the cochair for Equitable Transit Oriented Development Committee, City of Columbus Mayor’s Regional Housing Coalition (one of three conveners), Columbus and Franklin County Continuum of Care (Board of Directors, Vice Chair) and PNC Southern/Central Ohio Advisory Council. She is a proud lifelong member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

Ms. Mallory has received several recognitions - Homeport Voice and Vision Honoree, MORPC Regional Leadership Award, OWBA & OWBF Public & Community Service Award, Columbus Business First Women of Influence (2023 Nonprofit Leader), Mahogany Magazine Most Influential Women, Business First Forty Under 40.
Ms. Mallory is a CPA (inactive) and has a B.S.B.A. in accounting and law degree from The Ohio State University and an LL.M. in taxation from the University of Florida College of Law. She lives in Reynoldsburg with her son Micah and daughter Tasia, when they aren’t away at college.
